Words of wisdom you can implement in a minute or less!
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” — Winston Churchill
Attention managers:
Difficult conversations are difficult for both parties, but they are especially difficult when the parties involved do not have equal power or authority. Of course it takes courage to say the difficult messages that bosses often have to say. But it takes at least as much courage for bosses to sit back and listen. You might hear some things that you don’t want to hear, but ultimately need to know. The lower-level person should not be the only vulnerable person in the room. Have courage: Take a breath, sit back, and listen.
