I feel good

Coach others for a mood boost, and get free coaching for yourself…read on.

To say 2020 has been stressful is an understatement, and you don’t need me to list the stressors. You live them.

Some of us are coping by tuning out emotionally, and then we feel guilty for feeling numbness instead of empathy. You know what? Don’t feel guilty. You’re actually helping yourself get through the worst of it. We simply don’t have the internal resources to “feel too much.” Research shows that highly empathetic people suffer more during trying times.

But there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel: you and others may start to experience a shift towards what psychologists are calling “post-traumatic growth.” This is a time of regeneration and re-connection, and it’s the time when your presence matters the most. Instead of empathy (feeling more) shift your energy to compassion (helping more.) Research shows that coaching others with compassion actually reduces the stress hormone cortisol and boosts the parasympathetic nervous system. You’ll literally feel better by tuning in to them, acknowledging their goals and dreams, and helping them create a plan to achieve those things.

We don’t know exactly when or how things are going to get better, but we know they will get better. You and your colleagues can bring a positive, optimistic spark to the new year.

To help you, I’m offering every reader a free, 30-minute coaching session during the month of January. Yes, I am spreading the compassion around, and boosting my own immune system in the process! Click here to schedule your session. I’m excited to hear from you.

Wishing you peace and joy during the holidays!
